HOW TO USE YOUR SPI STYLES WASH & STYLE MESH DURAG
1. Prepare Your Hair
Before washing, thoroughly brush your hair in the direction of your wave pattern. This helps detangle your hair and reinforces your established pattern before washing.
Wet your hair thoroughly with warm water.
2. Shampoo & Work Your Pattern
Apply your preferred shampoo and gently work it through your hair and scalp.
Brush or smooth your hair in the direction of your wave pattern until your hair is fully laid and your pattern is clearly defined.
3. Secure Your Mesh Durag
Carefully place the SPI Styles Wash & Style Mesh Durag over your laid pattern.
Smooth the mesh against your hair to minimize wrinkles and air pockets, then secure the straps for comfortable, even compression.
4. Rinse Through the Durag
With the mesh durag secured, rinse thoroughly with water.
The breathable mesh allows water to pass through while helping keep your hair compressed and your wave pattern intact.
Continue rinsing until the shampoo has been completely removed.
5. Condition as Needed
If conditioner is part of your routine, apply and rinse according to the product directions while taking care to maintain your pattern.
6. Dry While Compressed
Gently pat away excess water with a clean towel. Avoid aggressive rubbing.
Keep your SPI Styles Mesh Durag on while your hair dries. Allowing your hair to dry under compression helps reinforce the laid pattern created during your Wash & Style session.
7. Brush, Moisturize & Finish
Once your hair is dry or nearly dry, carefully remove the durag.
Brush in the direction of your wave pattern and apply your preferred moisturizer, oil, butter, or pomade as needed.
For additional compression, reapply your durag after your finishing brush session.

Stay consistent with your angles. Always brush in the direction of your established wave pattern.
Don’t remove your durag too early. Allowing your hair to dry while compressed is an important part of the Wash & Style process.
